Gov't Grants Gulf Air BD 700 Million from Retirees' Money: MP

Bahrain Mirror: MP Abdulnabi Salman confirmed that the government has withdrawn more than BD 700 million from the pension fund in order to support Gulf Air.
Salman said the government withdrew the money in three batches in order to support the company stop its financial downturn.
He stressed that there is no legal status for what the government had done, as the fund is not responsible for supporting losing companies.
Salman said that while the government is working to ensure that pension funds continue, they must begin to return the withdrawn money before talking about stopping retiree privileges.
