Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): On the seventh day of Muharram 2021, security authorities attacked a mourning procession in Hamad Town and arrested two mourners, while troops continued to deploy in the vicinity of some Ma'tams (mourning halls).

The Ministry of Interior asked Ma'tam administrations, including Karzakan, to limit holding processions to the surrounding areas of the Ma'tams, which reduces the chances of achieving social distancing.

Ma'tam administrations criticized such decisions and considered them in violation of safety requirements in the first place, noting that such measures have nothing to do with combating the Coronavirus pandemic, but are being imposed in order to restrict the commemoration of Ashura rituals.

Security forces set up roadblocks near Abdulkarim roundabout, and it is not known whether they will block the road to Al-Sanabis, Jidhafs and Al-Daih.

Deputy Secretary General of Al-Wefaq Sheikh Hussein Al-Daihi said the authorities promote for principles such as religious tolerance, while they spend Ashura searching for opportunities to infringe on Ashura manifestations and restrict the commemoration of religious rites.

Bahraini scholars condemned in a statement on Monday (August 16, 2021) the arbitrary measures taken by the authorities to restrict the commemoration of Ashura religious rituals, including reducing the number of mourners in Ma'tams on the ninth and tenth of Muharram.

The High Committee organizing Imam Hussein's campaign for blood donation announced in its 23rd year the launch of this year's campaign under the slogan, "Al-Hussein is reform" on the ninth and tenth days of Muharram.

This campaign is considered one of the most important campaigns that provides Al-Salamniya blood bank with its needs.
