MoI Accuses Yousif Al-Muhafda and Hassan Al-Sitri of Managing "Na'eb Ta'eb" and Other Accounts on Twitter

Bahrain Mirror: Director-General of Anti-corruption and Economic and Electronic Security announced that the investigation of social media accounts that aim to promote sedition and harm civil peace, social fabric and stability revealed that most of them are managed by foreign sources from Iran, Qatar, Iraq and European countries, in addition to fugitives who are convicted in absentia.

He said that those accounts had been involved in implementing a systematic plan to defame the reputation of Bahrain and its people and promote sedition and disunity between members of society. The Director-General highlighted that the investigation revealed an e-network against social unity.

The probe identified the way and countries those accounts are managed. Yousif Al-Muhafda and Hassan Abdulnabi (Al-Sitri) who are both fugitives and live in Germany and Australia, formed the e-network of accounts that manage number of accounts on social media outlets including (Na'eb Tae'b, Al-Khawalid, Khalid MOA, Khalid and others)

The IP Addresses of those accounts revealed that they are managed from Iran, Qatar, Iraq and some European countries such as France, Germany and Australia. The Investigation also revealed that there are e-cells that back the network by providing false information from inside the country, along with promoting their suspicious messages. Those cells have been identified, and legal steps are being taken against those involved.

The Director-General said that legal procedures would be taken against social media accounts that post illegal contents or information against civil peace and social fabric. He stressed the importance to not deal or interact with those accounts and networks to avoid accountability.

He called upon all citizens and social media users to be cautious when posting information and avoid reposting allegations by seeing information from official sources and avoid exploiting the social media in the spreading of malicious rumours that harm security and civil peace.
