15% of Gov’t Employees in Bahrain are Foreigners

Bahrain Mirror: The number of foreign workers in the public sector has reached 15% of the total number of employees in ministries and government bodies, according to official statistics published by the local daily Al-Ayyam on Saturday (February 2, 2019).
The statistics show that the number of foreigners in the government sector amounted to 9,730 foreign employees, compared to 53,932 Bahraini citizens.
The detailed statistics state that the number of foreign males working in the government amounts to 6,555 foreigners, compared to 27,130 Bahraini nationals, while the number of foreign female employees in the government reached 3,175, compared to 26,802 Bahraini women.
The total number of employees in the government sector amounts to 63,662.
