Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Public Prosecutor's Office ordered, on October 14, 2018, holding Hassan Al-Shareqi in custody for 15 days pending investigation, after he was arrested in Karana Friday afternoon.

Security forces had cracked down on a peaceful demonstration in the town of Karana, and arrested at least five activists, including a number of martyrs' fathers.

Witnesses have confirmed that the authorities arrested "the father of martyr Sayed Hashim, father of martyr Ali Mushaima, activist Ali Al-Shareqi, Abu Mohammed Al-Akrawi and a citizen named Yasin from the town of Karana", along with other demonstrators.

On Friday afternoon (October 12, 2018), protests were staged in a number of villages and towns across the country, calling for the boycott of the municipal and parliamentary elections scheduled to be held in November 2018.
