Prosecution Appeals Opposition Leader Acquittal in “Colluding with Qatar” Charge, First Appeals Session on Sept. 5

Bahrain Mirror: The Public Prosecution said that it appealed the ruling of the High Court of Appeals that acquitted the opposition leader and Al-Wefaq Secretary-General, Sheikh Ali Salman, adding that the Appeals court decided to consider the objection on September 5.
This moves comes after the United States urged not to appeal the verdict in order to reach a reconciliation process. This step was criticized by the Bahrain Minister of Foreign Affairs Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa who deemed it an interference in the jurisdiction specialties.
