Bahrain Mirror: The Parliament in its session yesterday discussed a proposal by Salafist MP submitted to the cabinet, calling for "cutting off trade relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, halting air navigation and banning travel to the country".

This proposal was made by Salafist MP Jamal Bouhasan last year, specifically on June 5, 2016. The proposal calls for "severing diplomatic relations with Iran," urging "the government to urgently take all necessary measures to cut off all forms of trade relations with Iran, also stopping air and sea navigation and banning travel."

In the government's response, the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications halted all airline flights to and from Iran as of January 13, 2016, as well as banned Iranian ships from using Bahraini seaports. It also confirmed that on January 4, 2016 diplomatic relations with Iran had been severed.
