Bahrain Mirror- Exclusive: Commenting on the report issued by 3 human rights organizations that confirmed that the National Security Agency (NSA) uses systematic torture, the security authorities in Bahrain said on Wednesday (August 23, 2017) that they are not engaged in torture.

Responding to the report circulated by international media outlets, the security authorities issued a statement through Bahrain News Agency (BNA) in which they said "the alleged human rights organizations are unknown and their activities are only limited to anonymous statements that lack credibility and are issued for malicious purposes."

Three Bahraini organizations, the Gulf Institute for Democracy and Human Rights, Bahrain Forum for Human Rights, and Salam for Democracy and Human Rights issued an extensive report that revealed the torture of activists in the NSA building in Muharraq.

The security authorities added "Accusations mentioned in those reports are false and baseless."

In an attempt to link the human rights report to the rift with Qatar, the security authorities stated "The adoption by Al Jazeera channel of those malicious reports and keenness on intensively broadcasting them indicate that those reports are part of the historic Qatari conspiracy against Bahrain and its people."

Human rights condition degraded in Bahrain after crushing the vast popular movement in 2011 that demanded putting an end to Al Khalifa monopoly over power.
