Bahrain Mirror: Prominent human rights activist and detainee Ibtisam Al-Saegh said that the stripping of clothes and sexual abuse she was subjected to by the members of security authorities affiliated to the Ministry of Interior were heinous, adding that this should be brought to halt and not to be repeated with any other woman.

Al-Saegh added in a phone call on Tuesday (August 15, 2017) that she is still in pain due to what she was subjected to "there should be a stance of honor. If there are no clerics who can stop this, the world should take action to protect women's dignity".

Al-Saegh thanked everyone who expressed solidarity with her, explaining that she is still being harassed. She is the only Bahraini prisoner among foreign prisoners who suffer from tuberculosis and she is obliged to stay in her room in order not to catch the disease. She went on to say that there are a lot of sick people and sometimes they mess with my food so I have to careful. Al-Saegh stated that she always wears a mask because she is afraid of diseases.

She explained that she is on hunger strike now due to humiliation and insults and disregarding her feelings, as her request to practice rituals and perform rituals with other Bahrainis was rejected.

Al-Saegh greeted fathers of martyrs, explaining that a large part of what she was subjected to was because of her stance towards the families of the execution martyrs and the freedom martyrs and her demands to the right of families to see their killed sons.
