Bahrain Embassy in UK Launches Campaign against Activist Ibtisam Al-Saegh, Accuses her of Terrorism

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Embassy in the UK issued a statement on its official "Twitter" account regarding "Allegations in the Case of Ibtisam Al-Saegh".
The statement issued (July 14, 2017) read, "Mrs. Al Saegh is currently detained and is facing serious charges related to terrorism, links with terrorist organizations and known terrorist cells operating."

Moreover, the statement denied that the detained activist was subject to any sexual harassment, or that she, or any member of her family or legal guardian, had made any complaint "to independent human rights oversight bodies."
Bahrain's Embassy statement claimed that "such allegations are taken very seriously and it is within the mandate of the National Institution for Human Rights, the Ombudsman for the Ministry of Interior, the Ombudsman for the National Security Agency to independently examine complaints in order to take all necessary measures to promote and defend fundamental freedoms in the Kingdom of Bahrain."
"Bahrain is unique in the region regarding oversight bodies that safeguard and independently investigate allegations of violations or infringement upon Human Rights," the statement further claimed.
Al-Saegh was subject to torture and sexual assault at the Bahraini Intelligence building, in an attempt to force her to stop her activity. She was then arrested after she reported the circumstances of her detention.
