Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Ministry of Interior (MoI) denied to have closed the headquarters of National Democratic Action Society (Wa'ad), claiming that what is conducted last May 31, was a ban of a "law-violating assembly".
The Ministry's deputy undersecretary for legal affairs, said that Bahrain's security and the safety of its people come first in its priorities. He also added that nationalism comes with rights and duties that everyone ought to respect, and no one is above the law or can escape accountability, whether societies or individuals.
"We are aware that the verdict to dissolve (Wa'ad) society is a primary ruling, and what police forces did on May 31, 2017 was not linked to closing the society headquarters. It was rather to stop a law-violating assembly, which included inciting calls that could have destabilized the public security and civil peace," he went on to say.
The deputy undersecretary for legal affairs concluded his statement saying that "whenever there are any violations of law, police forces are committed to confronting them anywhere and under any circumstances."
