of Shiite cleric Sheikh Hasanain Al-Mhanna for 2 weeks pending investigation and transferred him to Dry Dock Prison in Al-Hidd.
The prosecution accused him of "inciting hatred against the regime and inciting contempt against a sect" over the background of a sermon he recently delivered.
The authorities intensified their campaign against Shiite clerics, summoned and arrested dozens of them, since the citizenship revocation of the Shiite majority spiritual leader, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim on June 20, 2016.
Shiites in Bahrain complain about sectarian discrimination against them and demand putting an end to Al Khalifa monopoly over power and democratic transition in the country.
