Bahrain Mirror: The Public Prosecution decided on Tuesday (June 20, 2017) to arrest Shiite cleric Sheikh Hussein, son of Sheikh Ali Al-Sitri, for a week pending investigation.

Sources familiar with the case stressed that the prosecution accused Al-Sitri of "insulting the companions" over the background of a religious sermon he delivered in the month of Ramadan.

Al-Sitri was summoned on Monday (June 19, 2017) by Hamad Town police station at Roundabout 17 that decided to arrest him and present him to the prosecution the following day.

The security authorities have launched a vast campaign against Shiite clerics, summoned and arrested dozens of them, since the citizenship revocation of the Shiite majority spiritual leader, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim on June 20, 2016.
