Bahrain Mirror: Amnesty International confirmed that there are 8 civilians suffering from serious injuries in the intensive care unit in Bahrain hospitals, as a result of the security forces' attack on Diraz Tuesday (May 23, 2017). The attack claimed the lives of 5, injured hundreds, and witnessed the arrest of 286.
Amnesty published updated information with the toll of the first day of the violent crackdown attack on Diraz, home to Shiite majority spiritual leader, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim. The international human rights watchdog said it is closely following up the dangerous developments in Bahrain.
Bahraini authorities had launched a vast bloody attack on Diraz to crush the protest staged outside the house of Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim since the revocation of his citizenship and his trial 11 months ago. Various security apparatuses took part in the attack, while some carried machine guns. Security forces are to this moment deployed throughout the village of Diraz.
