Bahrain Mirror: Security forces released Wednesday dawn (April 12, 2017) the rights activist Nidal Al-Salman, after being held at the airport for more than 3 hours on her arrival from Paris.
The reasons behind her arrest were not clear, but they're suggested to be based on her rights activism abroad, as activists have been facing such measures, among them activist Ebtisam al-Sayegh.
Bahraini authorities have launched a vast campaign against rights activists since the arrest of prominent rights activist Nabeel Rajab mid-2016. This measure was widely criticized by Bahrain's most prominent allies, the UK and the US.
Through posing a travel ban, authorities try to halt the coverage of increasing human rights violations in the country, which has been the topic of rights and UN criticism.
