Bahrain Mirror: Bahraini Council of Representatives' Speaker, Ahmad Al Mulla, sent an official invitation to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Zeid bin Ra'ad Al Hussein to visit the country. The letter invited the High Commissioner to visit the country and look into "the rights situation and the implemented reforms".
"We look forward for your Excellency to accept this letter at your best convenient time, so the visit schedule is arranged, and for measures and steps the Bahrain is conducting in the line of respecting and promoting human rights are presented," Al Mulla's letter stated.
Parliament representatives had sent an open letter to the UN High Commissioner to visit Bahrain, stating he would not face any movement restrictions, and he would be allowed to visit any place, village, and prison. This invitation comes in response to criticisms addressed by the UN High Commissioner, against Bahrain's human rights record.
