UK Closely Monitors Sheikh Ali Salman’s Case

Bahrain Mirror-Exclusive: Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Tobias Ellwood said that his country continues to monitor the case of the Bahraini detained opposition leader, Sheikh Ali Salman, closely.
In response to a parliamentary question on Tuesday (December 20, 2016), Ellwood stressed that embassy officials have attended every trial hearing of Sheikh Salman so far.
"Where we have concerns we continue to raise them with the Government of Bahrain, and we continue to encourage the Government of Bahrain to deliver on its international and domestic human rights commitments," he further stated.
