Bahrain Mirror: The fifth High Criminal Court decided last week to postpone the trial of prominent Bahraini activist Nabeel Rajab till December 28, 2016, to listen to the statements of prosecution witness. The technical expert concerned with examining a "Twitter" account in Rajab's name, is also expected to present his report.

According to Al-Wasat newspaper, Rajab's defense team represented by lawyers Kalila al-Sayed and Mohammad al-Jishi, who insisted on presenting an oral and written plea to the court. During the hearing, they expressed their rejection of the report presented by the technical expert, who was assigned to see the connection between Rajab and the twitter account under the name "@nabeelrajab".

The lawyers felt that the report is bias and lacks the technical requirement requested by the court. They added that his report was based on the estimates and opinions of the expert alone.

On this level, the lawyers indicated how the so-called technical expert indicated the link between Rajab and the twitter account, based on his search on the internet, and specifically quoting the "Wikipedia" page under the name of Nabeel Rajab.

Moreover, the lawyers indicated that "the experts seeks to mislead the judiciary when claiming that "Wikipedia" is the (biggest encyclopedia on the Internet), although it is nothing by a free information site. In other words, it is a website where all information in it are written by visitors and bloggers, and therefore they are not credible information, as they can suggest the personal opinion of its writers."

Therefore, Nabeel Rajab's defense team asked the court to drop all charges against him, for lack of evidence. They also called for contacting "Twitter" company and request a statement for information about the defendant's activity in any account on their social media platform. In addition, the lawyers recommended that a non-Bahraini expert is assigned on this matter, to present a technical report on the matter of accusation.
