Bahrain Mirror: The King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa described (on Tuesday November 8, 2016) his country's relations with Britain, as "deep-rooted and solid", believing they are built on "mutual interests".

This came during a meeting between Hamad bin Isa and UK Crown Prince, Prince Charles, amid rights organizations criticism over the latter's visit to Bahrain. In the meeting, King Hamad commended "the important role of HRH Prince Charles as well as his dedicated efforts to support and consolidate Bahraini-British relations and expand joint cooperation," Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

Human Rights Watch had previously accused the Prince of Wales of not caring enough about the "crushing of dissent" in Bahrain, in response to the official announcement of his detailed trip to the Gulf region.

Human Rights Watch also criticized the Government, which requested Charles and Camilla tour the region, for standing "squarely and cravenly" behind the Bahrain administration, which has been accused of a string of abuses since pro-democracy protesters were violently suppressed during the Arab Spring of 2011.

Moreover, Amnesty International called on UK's Prince Charles, to talk about free speech when meeting with Bahrain King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa tomorrow Tuesday in the capital Manama. The international human rights watchdog condemned the British government and ministers' role, "who have recently bent over backwards to paint a picture of Bahrain as a country pushing ahead with ‘reforms'."
