Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain security forces banned on Friday (October 7, 2016) three human rights activists from leaving the country. This comes in a series of arbitrary measures adopted against activists and opposition figures.
Activists reported on social media networks that lawyer and human rights defender Mohammad al-Tajer, member of the Bahrain Observatory of Human Rights and prominent activist Abdulnabi al-Akri, and President of Bahrain's Transparency Association Sayed Sharaf al-Moussawi, were all banned from leaving the country.
Months ago, the authorities banned activists from leaving the country to participate in any international event, including the UN Human Rights Council meetings. This led to severe criticism by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, High Commissioner for Human Rights Prince Zayd bin Ra'ad, in addition to Bahrain's allies Washington and London.
