Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini authorities detained on Sunday (August 14, 2016) the head of the Religious Freedoms Department at the Bahrain Human Rights Observatory, Sheikh Maytham Al-Salman, after interrogating him for more than 9 hours about his stances regarding the violations practiced against Shiites in Bahrain.
Al-Salman was transferred to the Budai police station as an introduction to present him to the prosecution the following day.
The public prosecution concluded the interrogation of Sheikh Maytham Al-Salman and released him after accusing him of "assembly".
International organizations called on the Bahraini authorities to stop targeting Al-Salman and the human rights activists. The authorities, however, refused to respond to these calls.
