Ministry of Foreign Affairs Responds to US Representative to UN: Judiciary is Independent Authority, Above all People

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the statements of Ambassador Samantha Power, US Permanent Representative to the United Nations, are incompatible with the principles held by the United States of America about respect for the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary.
It added that the Kingdom will not deviate from the principle of the sovereignty of law (...) and that the judiciary is an independent authority that is above all people.
Samantha Power expressed her deep concern about the trial of Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, calling on Bahrain to return to path of reform and reconciliation.
