Prosecution Charges Sheikh Hamza Al-Dairi with Inciting Hatred against Regime and Insulting Statutory Entity

Bahrain Mirror: The Public Prosecution interrogated on Tuesday (July 26, 2016) a Shiite cleric Sheikh Hamza Al-Dairi and released him on residence bail after charging him with inciting hatred against the regime.
Al-Dairy was summoned over delivering Friday sermon in the Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque in Gufoul last week.
Capital Governorate Chief Prosecutor, Mohammed Al-Maliki, said that the Naim Police Station had been notified that an individual delivered a sermon that included provocative expressions that bore the hallmarks of punishable offences.
The Public Prosecution launched an immediate inquiry into the report, listened to the sermon and questioned the suspect in the presence of his lawyer, Al-Maliki said, adding that when confronted with the content of the speech, the suspect admitted delivering it. The suspect was charged with inciting hatred of the constitutional regime of the kingdom and insulting a statutory entity. He was released on residence bail pending further investigations, the chief prosecutor added.
