Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's High Appeals Court, presided over by Mohammad bin Ali Al Khalifa and Naji Abdullah as secretariat, upheld a ruling, that sentenced 9 defendants to 7 years in prison over charges of assaulting the bodily integrity of 3 policemen, by hurling Molotov cocktails and metal rods near Damestan camp.

The Public Prosecution had accused the defendants of three charges. It claimed that the defendants attacked three policemen while and because they were on duty.

It further alleged that they, along with other unknown suspects, gathered in an assembly of more than 5 persons, aiming at disrupting public security, used violence to achieve the aim they gathered for, and acquired and had possession of Molotov cocktails.

The authorities claim that around 500 protestors headed towards the Damestan camp near Karzakan and blocked the road with rocks and garbage containers, and when the security forces arrived to the scene, they were attacked by the protestors with stones, iron rods and Molotov cocktails, leaving 3 policemen injured.
