Al-Shamlawi: Sheikh Ali Salman’s Ruling Is “Void”

Bahrain Mirror: Lawyer Abdullah Al-Shamlawi, one of Sheikh Ali Salman's lawyers of the defence panel, said that the Bahraini court of appeals' ruling against the opposition leader is "void".
Al-Shamlawi stressed in a tweet posted on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday (June 1, 2016) that the ruling issued against Sheikh Salman is void since the court did not recite the report, pursuant to article 299 of the Bahrain Code of Criminal Procedure.
Bahrain's court of appeals on Monday (May 30, 2016) more than doubled the prison sentence against Sheikh Salman, increasing his prison term for 4 to 9 years over a number of charges raised against him.
