Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini High Court of Appeals, presided over by judge Mohammad bin Ali and Naji Abdullah as secretariat, sentenced a Bahraini youth (17 years old) to 3 years in prison over assembling, burning tires and acquiring Molotov cocktails in the Bahraini capital Manama.
The General Department of Criminal Investigations received a report, stating that investigations led to the suspects accused of starting a fire and planting a hoax bomb in Manama. The suspects assembled, planted the hoax bomb and set several tries on fire to intimidate citizens and residents.
The suspect confessed during the Public Prosecution's interrogation that he contacted a person nicknamed "Al-Moghazalgi" through a Blackberry phone and told him about the incident. The suspect headed to the said place and saw 11 masked citizens whom he did not know, as well as a number of tires, Petrol bottle, Molotov cocktails and a strange body. "Al-Moghazalgi" covered his face with a mask and the suspect, along with the group, went to an area near Bab Al-Bahrain and burned the tries. The suspect also planted the hoax explosives.
Since 2012, riot cases that go under the demonstrations and riot section of the penal code were adapted to apply to the terrorism law, if there were "terrorist" purposes behind them, such as attempted murder of a police officer, violating the provisions of law and endangering the lives of people and their properties, within the regime's framework of harshening penalties against protestors and activists.
