Bahrain Mirror: Sources close to prisoners held at Bahrain's Jaw Central Prison said that the prison's administration decided to tie up the hands and feet of all prisoners sentenced to 10-year prison terms or more during transfers to the Al-Qal'a Hospital or Al-Salmaniya Medical Complex and while receiving treatment.
The prisoners said that the reason behind this decision is the escape of several detainees from the hospital during treatment.
The prison administration used to only handcuff prisoners while they were being transferred to hospitals or during treatment.
