Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Fourth High Criminal Court, presided over by judge Rashid bin Ahmad with the memberships of judges Osama Al-Shadhili and Wael Ebrahim and Ahmad Al-Sulaiman as secretariat, adjourned the case of Al-Wefaq senior official Sheikh Hassan Isa, in which he was accused of funding a "terrorist group", until May 16, 2016 to listen to the attesting witnesses' testimonies. 23 other suspects involved in the case were accused of murdering 2 policemen and attempting to kill 6 others,
Sheikh Isa along with 4 others appeared before the judge. It was the first time for one of the suspects to attend the court; he denied the charges brought against him, stressing that since November 2012 he has been serving a prison term, wondering how he could commit the crime that took place in 2015! Meanwhile, only 2 witnesses out of 12 showed up.
The head of the Terrorist Crimes Prosecution, Attorney-General Ahmad Al-Hammadi, has previously stated that the prosecution concluded its investigations in the case of the establishment of an illegal terrorist group that launched a bomb attack against a Ministry of Interior's bus, leaving 2 policemen killed and 6 others injured. 24 suspects were referred to the competent court, 12 of which detained. The court charged them with establishing, managing, joining and funding a terrorist group, attempting to murder policemen, detonating bombs, acquiring explosives and training on the use of weapons for a terrorist purpose. It also accused the suspects of manufacturing flammable substances, destroying properties of others, hiding fugitives, having knowledge of a terrorist crime and not reporting it to the competent authorities, as well as illegally entering and leaving Bahrain.
