Bahrain Mirror: Salam for Democracy and Human Rights is organizing an international conference on April 22 and 23, 2016 in coordination with No Peace without Justice, entitled "Shia Persecution in Bahrain". Parliamentary institutions and bodies, organizations, law experts and think tanks will take part in this conference to be held in the Belgian capital, Brussels.
"The conference sheds light on persecution and discrimination Shiites face in Bahrain, in order to reflect a real image to the international public opinion about the persecution and discrimination against Shiites," said the conference's director Philip Belau.
The conference will also discuss setting a joint agenda with international institutions and bodies concerned in religious freedoms to defend the religious and civilian rights in Bahrain and establish a work group to put an end to this persecution and achieve full citizenship for all.
It will tackle the sectarian persecution in Bahrain in terms of history, human rights and politics by presenting 20 papers throughout seven sessions. The conference will be concluded by proposing a number of recommendations to be presented to the international human rights institutions.
