Bahrain Mirror: The Al-Ayam newspaper, owned by the media advisor to the Bahraini King, Nabeel Al-Hamer, said that the Bahraini Public Prosecution summoned journalist Saeed Al-Hamad for interrogation over a complaint filed against him by Al-Wasat newspaper, over tweets he had posted. Al-Hamad will stand before the prosecution on Wednesday (March 16, 2016).
Al-Hamad is a pro-government journalist who has repeatedly and openly spread accusations against the opponents of the regime and posted videotaped confessions made by detained opposition supporters, extracted under torture at the hands of security authorities, in a television show that aired during 2011 and 2012.
Al-Hamad is officially supported by the authorities. His last appearance was made in a visit he paid to the military commander Khalifa bin Ahmad, who praised Al-Hamad's work, which indicates that he receives support.
