Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): The Bahraini detainee Taleb Ali, who is sentenced over the "5 Tons" case on smuggled explosives, was able to recognize the police officer who tortured him in the courtroom and so he yelled at him saying: "You tortured me for days until I saw death at your hands."
During the appeals hearing held to listen to the attesting witnesses on Tuesday (February 16, 2016), Taleb Ali recognized the officer who abused him, Khaled Al-Arabi, who came into the courtroom to give an attesting testimony. "If you suffered for only one day as I suffered, you would have confessed crimes that you did not commit," added Taleb Ali.
"I suffered from torture for days and I was put in solitary confinement for months," he stressed. The judge then ordered taking Taleb out of the court. Before leaving the courtroom, Taleb firmly addressed Al-Arabi by saying: "You swore on the Holy Quran and it will be the judge between you and me on the Day of Judgment."
The court; however, adjourned the trial until March 21.
