BCHR: 34 Bahrainis Arrested within a Week

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahrain Center for Human Rights (BCHR) recorded last week (February 1-7, 2016) 34 arbitrary arrests, including 3 children and a woman.
BCHR reported 40 years of prison terms issued by Al Khalifa regime courts against 18 Bahrainis, including former MP Khalid Abdul'al, photographer Ahmad Al-Fardan and human rights activist Zainab Al-Khawaja. Meanwhile, the courts adjourned 14 cases, including that of ophthalmologist and activist Saeed Al-Samahiji, who is accused of posting tweets condemning the execution of prominent Shiite Saudi cleric Sheikh Nimr Al-Nimr by Saudi authorities.
The human rights center further stated that the Bahraini authorities renewed the detentions of 9 citizens during this period, among whom was Yousef Al-'Am from A'ali village, who is accused of managing a Twitter account.
