Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Ninth Minor Criminal Court looked into the case of Dr. Saeed Al-Samahiji, who faces charges of insulting a sister state, inciting disobedience of the laws and regulations in Bahrain and publicly calling for taking part in unlicensed protests and rallies.
Lawyer Talal Al-Ayoubi requested from the court a copy of the case files, more time for reviewing the case as well as releasing Al-Samahiji due to his old age and illness.
Al-Ayoubi added that the court adjourned the case until February 4, 2016 for further review with the continued detention of Al-Samahiji.
It is noteworthy that the authorities arrested Al-Samahiji after he sent tweets from his personal Twitter account, criticizing the execution of prominent Shiite cleric Sheikh Nimr Al-Nimr by Saudi authorities.
