Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Fourth High Criminal Court, presided over judge Ali bin Khalifa Al-Dhahrani with the membership of Osama Al-Shadhili and Wael Ibrahim and Ahmad Sulaiman as secretariat, handed down 10-year prison terms to 4 suspects accused of burning tires in the village of Aali and assault by hurling Molotov cocktails at the vehicle of former MP Mohammad Khaled.

The Bahraini authorities claim that around 25 persons joined an assembly at the time of the incident at 6 pm, place tires on Khalifa bin Salman road in the village of Aali, poured gasoline and set them on fire using Molotov cocktails. They also accused them of attacking the car of the former MP Mohammad Khaled by throwing Molotov cocktails at it. They fled after causing traffic disruption and endangering the lives of people on the road, the authorities further stated, adding that intensive investigations were conducted through which the perpetrators were reached.

The Public Prosecution accused the suspects of deliberately starting a fire with unknown others on August 3, 2014; which might have endangered people's lives and private properties. They, also, joined an assembly of more than 5 persons, using violence to achieve the purpose they gathered for. The third charge is having possession of Molotov cocktails and damaging the body and glass of the former MP Mohammad Khaled's vehicle.

It is noteworthy that Bahrain's Fourth High Criminal Court was created on July 2013 to accommodate the huge number of cases against protesters and activists, and speed up issuing the strict sentences under the Terrorism Act.
