Jaw Prison: Detainee Ali Hassan Suffering from Low Vision Transferred to Hospital’s Ophthalmology Dept.

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Public Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said that the medical record of detainee Ali Hassan who entered the correction and rehabilitation center on August 7, 2014 doesn't indicate he suffers from any chronic diseases but low vision of nearby objects without any other symptoms. He was transferred to the Department of Ophthalmology at the Bahrain Royal Medical Services on January 20, 2015 where his medical appointments were followed-up regularly on April 9 and October 27 of 2015, and where he has another appointment on April 18, 2016 to follow-up his medical condition. It further stated that if any medical reports are available with his family, they should kindly hand them to the Public Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, in order to submit them to the consultative therapist so that the necessary actions would be taken.
The family of the detainee Ali Hassan had called on the authorities to release Hassan to receive treatment outside Bahrain due to the eyesight issues he suffers from which may lead to blindness.
