BCHR: 37 Arrests Including Woman During 3rd Week of December

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahrain Center for Human Rights (BCHR) stated that the Bahraini authorities arrested 37 citizens including 5 children and a woman during the third week of December, 2015, 27% of whom were arrested in illegal house raids.
The centre added in a statement that during the period extending from December 14 until 20, the authorities adjourned the trials of 71 detainees accused of rioting in Jaw Central Prison, and sentenced 17 citizens to more than 90 years in prison, including the human rights activist Hussein Perweez.
BCHR concluded its statement by saying that the authorities cracked down on 7 peaceful protests, using tear gas and shotgun pellets leaving many injuries among the demonstrators.
