Bahrain Mirror: A British Court issued a final verdict on Thursday (December 17, 2015) without appeal, sentencing Bahraini opposition activist Abdulraof Al-Shayeb to 5 years in prison over charges of "possession of memory containing material that can be used for terrorist purposes," according to a source that was present during the trial.
The British authorities claimed that "a computer memory card loaded with military files on ‘bombs, missiles and destruction' were found at his home." Al-Shayeb; however, denied that the files were his or that he knows anything about them.
Four years ago, the United Kingdom made amendments to the Penal Code, criminalizing possession of information that "could be used in terrorist activities."
