Bahrain Mirror: Awal Centre for Studies and Documentation celebrated on Tuesday (December 8, 2015) the book signing of "Record of Protest" by the Bahraini author Abbas Morshid who recorded the biography of human rights activist Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja, who is sentenced to life imprisonment.
The book that was launched in the Awal Centre corner at the Beirut book exhibition speaks of "Al-Khawaja's success in creating a large base of activists in the field of human rights in Bahrain and the Gulf region."
The book focused on how Al-Khawaja "reinforced the act of protesting and improved it from the levels of direct politics to the level of human rights within the framework of supporting his own vision on human rights."
In response to a question by Monte Carlo Doualiya radio station about the success of Al-Khawaja in creating a generation of rights defenders in the Gulf region, Al-Morshid said: "That was the challenge that Al-Khawaja succeeded in (...) as he addressed discrimination issues and torture cases creating awareness among people of the importance of calling for their rights."
