Bahrain’s Industry Ministry Closes Down 3 Restaurants for Raising Prices & Warns Others

Bahrain Mirror: Bahrain's Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism announced that the department of consumer protection has taken all the necessary measures to protect the freedom of competition after implementing the decision to redirect subsidies on meat and has closed down three restaurants in Arad, Hamad Town and Riffa for raising their prices.
In a statement published by the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the ministry said: "On Tuesday, October 6, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism closed down three restaurants in Arad, Hamad Town and Riffa that violated the rules of fair and free competition and exploited the current situation. A number of restaurants and commercial shops that violated the rules of fair and free competition aiming at exploiting the current situation were also warned."
The ministry addressed the citizens and consumers, urging them to report any violation by contacting the department of consumer protection on the following phone number: 17007003.
