Bahrain Mirror: Worshippers in Bahrain's Al-Diraz took to the streets following Friday prayer (July 3, 2015) at the Imam Sadiq mosque, demanding the release of all political prisoners, mainly the Secretary-General of Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, Sheikh Ali Salman, and his fellow leaders of the opposition movement.
Demonstrators carried photos of Sheikh Ali Salman and chanted slogans calling for his release along with all political prisoners.
According to the Al-Wasat newspaper, the protestors denounced the ruling convicting Salman of inciting violence, stressing that he was a peace advocate and was devoted to safeguarding national cohesion. "Attributing violence to Salman does not conform with his well-known peaceful approach which he adopted to demand the rights of all Bahrainis without discrimination," highlighted the protestors.
"Accusing him of inciting hatred fails to stand against his peacefulness and determination to preserve civil peace which are evident in his speeches since the onset of the events that erupted in February 2011 until now."
