Bahrain Mirror: The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its concern over the sentence of Bahrain's opposition leader and Secretary-General of Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, Sheikh Ali Salman, calling on the Bahraini government to reconsider the court verdict.
The ministry said in a statement that it is concerned "about the prison sentence handed down to the Secretary-General of Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, Sheikh Ali Salman," considering that "this verdict comes as part of a series of procedures that would complicate the situation of dealing with popular demands to make real political reforms that would provide social justice among all factions of the sister Bahraini nation."
The Iraqi ministry called on the Bahraini government to "reconsider the verdict issued against Sheikh Ali Salman due to the consequences it may have on the stability of Bahrain and the region in general."
