Public Prosecution Summons Number of Al-Wefaq Leaders and Activists
Activists on social media said that the authorities summoned a number of Al-Wefaq leaders and activists for interrogation in the public prosecution without knowing the nature of cases to be investigated.
BFHR: 66 Torture Cases & 39 Arrests during April
The Bahrain Forum for Human Rights (BFHR) stated that the Bahraini security authorities arbitrarily arrested 39 citizens, adding that 66 others were subjected to torture and ill-treatment during the third week of April, 2016.
Interior Ministry Summons Two Al-Wefaq Officials over Statement Questioning Ministry
Bahrain's Ministry of Interior announced that it summoned the political assistant of the Al-Wefaq Secretary-General, Khalil Al-Marzooq and secretariat member Abduljalil Khalil over Al-Wefaq statements that "questioned the procedures adopted by the Interior Ministry" as well as "calling for the interference of foreign organizations."
