Hundreds of Bahrainis mourned on Tuesday (April 6th, 2021) in Nuwaidrat the death of martyr Abbas Malallah, who died in prison after the Jaw Central Prison administration refused to transfer him to the hospital.

The Bahraini Ministry of Interior announced on April 6, 2021 through a statement issued by the Prisons Directorate, the death of 50-year-old political prisoner, Abbas Hasan Malallah, who is from the Nuwaidrat area, married and has three children.

US Department of State issued its 2020 annual human rights report and discussed the human rights situation in Bahrain in 39 pages.

"Coronavirus is not the only threat to the lives of our children, as there are many diseases that are spreading among prisoners, due to the cells overcrowding. We tell the Interior Minister that you are responsible for what is happening to our children who were forced to confess fabricated charges under torture."

Diplomatic sources revealed that EU deputies are moving in various directions to push the EU leadership to take firmer positions with the Bahraini regime, and are coordinating efforts with other international groups to determine a serious stance towards the violations practiced against activists and political detainees.

Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim called for the release of prisoners and addressed the government of Bahrain saying "Choose between releasing prisoners and keeping them to die in prisons."

Hundreds of citizens took to the streets in different areas across Bahrain for the second day in a row (Tuesday, March 30, 2021) demanding the authorities to release prisoners after Coronavirus outbreak in prison.

Responding to questions raised by Bahrain Mirror, political prisoners in Jaw Central Prison say they have been living in harsh conditions since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic inside the prison.

Al-Wefaq deputy Secretary-General, Sheikh Hussein Al-Daihi, said that "the lives of prisoners of conscience in Bahrain have been in constant danger for years and are in more danger with the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic."

Families of prisoners staged protests on Monday (March 29, 2021) night in different Bahraini areas, demanding the authorities to reveal the fate of their sons in Jaw prison, which has become an epicenter for the Coronavirus, and calling for emptying prisons in light of this pandemic.

The Bahrain Forum for Human Rights and SALAM for Democracy and Human Rights issued an update on the condition of prisoners infected with Coronavirus.

Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society announced the infection of detainee Sheikh Hasan Isa with Coronavirus.

BCHR called on the Bahraini authorities to immediately release the prisoners for humanitarian reasons, and to adopt the principle of social distancing to limit the spread of the virus in prisons, in addition to providing protective supplies such as masks, disinfectants, and gloves to reduce the risk of infection.

Bahrain Forum for Human Rights and Salam for Democracy and Human Rights documented the names of 39 inmates who tested positive for Coronavirus.

Informed sources confirmed to Bahrain Mirror the infection of more than 26 prisoners with Coronavirus. Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry announced the discovery of 3 positive cases only.

BFHR president commented on the outbreak of Coronavirus inside Jaw Prison and the infection of number of inmates saying "The detainees' experience of being denied health care by the prison administration as one of the preferred methods of torture leads us to question how the security authorities would deal with prisoners after COVID-19 reaches prisons."

Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society held the regime fully responsible for what was happening inside prisons.

The Interior Ministry announced the discovery of 3 positive COVID-19 cases in Jaw Central Prison.

The situation in Jaw Prison has reached the verge of exploding, after prison director Hisham Al-Zayani decided to suppress the protests of prisoners. It is claimed that the perpetrator, a former BDF soldier, is only an executor of Al-Zayani's orders.

Family of prisoner of conscience Sheikh Zuheir Ashour issued a statement on Tuesday (March 16, 2021) in which it said that Zuheir was subjected to an attempted murder by a political prisoner, a former army in Bahrain Defense Force.
