Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini government decided on Monday (November 15, 2021) to reduce its expenses for the coming year by 20% and an additional reduction of up to 15% for the years 2023 and 2024, in addition to the four initiatives approved to enhance non-oil revenue.
The decisions came days after Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed received Bahrain's Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad in Abu Dhabi, during which a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed, the Bahrain News Agency reported.
Bahrain was forced to adopt austerity measures years ago and introduced a plan called the "Fiscal Balance Program" to obtain financial support from the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, estimated at $10 billion.
