Bahrain Mirror: Reporters Without Borders condemned threats by Interior Ministry against head of Bahrain Press Association Adel Marzouq.

The organization said via its Twitter account "the Bahraini interior Ministry accused journalist Adel Marzouq of cybercrimes over his tweets that analyze politics in the Gulf. The ministry warned those who intend to carry out such operations in the future. Reporters Without Borders condemns these attempts to intimidate and practice censorship on journalists."

Reporters Without Borders is an independent NGO with consultative status with the United Nations, UNESCO, the Council of Europe and the International Organization of the Francophonie. It was founded by four journalists in the southern French city Montpellier in 1985.

The Interior Ministry said on Tuesday that "the social media account of Adel Marzouq is managed from outside Bahrain. It targets to encourage sedition between members of society. Legal procedures are being taken against the account and anyone who promote malicious messages."

The ministry's measures come after King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa directed the security agencies to strictly deal with cases of misusing social media outlets.
