Bahrain Mirror: The High Appeal Court decided to postpone the acquittal appeals of Sheikh Ali Salman, Secretary-General of Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, to November 4, 2018.

Bahraini attorney general Ousama Al-Awfi said the "the High Court of Appeal completed on October 15, 2018 the hearings of the appeal of the public prosecution in the verdict issued the High Criminal court acquitting him of the charges brought against him and two of his colleagues, Sheikh Hasan Sultan and former MP Ali Al-Aswad."

Bahrain also accused Sheikh Ali Salman of "collaborating with Qatar" after it had, along with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt, severed ties with Doha due to disagreements over influence in the region.

The charges are related to calls Sheikh Ali Salman made with Qatar's foreign minister in 2011 to put an end to the political crisis ravaging the country. The opposition said King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa was one of the parties in the US-Qatari mediation to resolve the crisis.
