Bahrain Mirror: The First High Criminal Appeals Court upheld a 7-years jail verdict against 2 appellants, who traveled to Iran and received training in camps affiliated with Iran's Revolutionary Guard, and a ruling revoking them of their citizenships.
The Public Prosecution referred the 5 suspects to trial because in 2015 and 2016, the first and second suspects trained on the manufacture and use of arms and explosives in camps affiliated with Iran's Revolutionary Guard, aiming at committing crimes in the Kingdom. The prosecution accused the suspects from the third till the fifth of taking part, along with other unknowns, through inciting and agreeing with the first and second suspects to commit crimes.
The prosecution further stated that the third suspect incited the first 2 on committing the crime and supplied them with money and communication devices needed to commit the crime.
The first instance court sentenced the suspects to 7 years in jail and revoked their citizenships. Meanwhile, it acquitted the 3 other suspects of the charges brought against them.
