Bahrain Mirror: Sheikh Maytham Al-Salman called on all torture victims in Bahrain to file urgent complaints to the United Nations and disclose to the organization and public opinion all of what they were subjected to.

Al-Salman said in tweets under hashtag #Kingdom-of-Torture that "Bahrain badly needs the visit of the UN Special Rapporteur on torture more than any time before," highlighting the importance of pressuring on the government to allow his visit.

Al-Salman indicated that Bassiouni report documented in 2011 the usage of more than 21 patterns of torture, explaining that the government is still practicing torture in the same manner until 2017; like beating using hoses and wires, electrocuting, sexual abuse, threats to target relatives as well as stripping of clothes.

He highlighted that the lack of criminal accountability for more than 4000 victims since 2011 established the impunity policy.

Sheikh Al-Salman added "we don't want Bahrain to be designated as Kingdom of torture as South Africa was designated last century as the apartheid state."
