Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini High Civil Court, presided over by judge Jomaa Al-Mousa, adjourned the case of dissolving Bahrain's main opposition group Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society and freezing its funds until September 4, 2016, for consideration of request.
A hearing was held today on Thursday (June 23, 6, 2016) upon a request by the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowment (Waqf) to expedite the pending verdict on Al-Wefaq's dissolution, which was previously set to be held on October 6, 2016.
The court had swiftly ordered on Tuesday (June 14, 2016) the suspension of Al-Wefaq and all its activities, closing down its offices, and freezing all its assets and funds, in what appeared to be an escalating campaign against dissent in the Gulf kingdom.
