Bahrain Mirror: Up to 30 percent of Bahrain government employees face losing their jobs under a parliament-wide restructuring in response to stringent budget cuts, predicted the Arabian Business online newspaper.

Details of the plan are to be revealed in the coming days, reported Gulf Daily News, but it is thought to involve merging some government departments, instating department heads on a rotational basis, changing job descriptions and make necessary redundancies within the framework of restructuring. Meanwhile, a hiring freeze has been imposed with immediate effect and staff have been banned from having any political affiliation.

The Bahraini government approved the national budget for the fiscal years 2015 and 2016 following a lengthy delay of 6 months, during which amendments were made on the budget plan.
